Valentine’s Day Done Right With Our Help

Tags :

indexWe’re 3 weeks away from this beautiful holiday and we’d like to help you make it memorable and safe. Today we’re going to take some time to give you some ideas as to how to incorporate your pool (if you didn’t close it for the season) or your Jacuzzi/ hot tub . As always, we love helping you keep your pools and hot tubs clean and running smooth, because we love pools as much as you do!

Here’s our ideas on how to make this February 14th one for the record books!

  • Hot Tub Romance: Valentine’s Day being a Sunday means you and your partner can probably spend the whole day together, so why not plan in some Tubbin’ time? Turn on the jets, bring out the rose petals, and serve the bubbly! Before this surprise, have us stop by to inspect the unit and get it sparkling clean for you! You don’t need algae growth ruining the mood and making you and your hot tub partner slip around. Note: Be careful using rose petals to set the mood– check with us about how chlorine will affect the petals and how the petals will affect the water. You may want to opt for a synthetic– and reusable– option.
  • Couples Night: Bring by another couple (or more) for some couples night fun! Board games, movies, and some time in the hot tub! Unwind before the work week gets started again! Spread the love, guys.
  • Pools: If your pool is open (as well as clean, balanced, and working properly with our help) then you may find yourself able to surprise your partner with a pool party with your closest friends or other couples. You can also purchase any number of interesting multi-person floats for your pool. This will allow you to lay with your love to look at the clouds or the stars while you float peacefully across the water without a care in the world.
  • Indoor pools: Embrace your inner child and splash around instead of the droll exercising you probably do with your indoor units. Bring out the floats, or take a page from the hot tub romance and bring out rose petals and a floating bar or other interesting pool accessory. Relax the stress from the previous week away with warm water and the best company.

No matter how you spend your February 14th this year, we hope it’s a great one! Don’t forget that Pool Daddy AZ can help you with almost every pool and hot tub need you have! We can help you keep your units running year round as well as close them for Winter and open them for Spring or Summer.

Holiday Pool Style: Unwind With a Hot Tub

Holiday Pool Style: Unwind With A Hot Tub

Holiday Pool

This time next week we’ll be eating Thanksgiving leftovers, still fighting crowds for Thanksgiving Weekend sale prices, or recovering from Black Friday shopping. Unwind the best way possible with your hot tub, indoor pool, or Jacuzzi. From the infinity pools to your basic above ground Jacuzzi, warm or hot water can be the best way to relax after holiday stress. Keep your water-based-stress-saver running smoothly with our help! Regular cleaning, checks, and maintenance will help keep your hot tub working from now until New Year’s (and beyond).

To encourage you to keep your hot tub or Jacuzzi (or even a heated pool) through Winter, we’d like to remind you of just how much better your life can be when these units are working.

  1. Stress Management: Exercise is a great way to manage stress, so if your pool is still open you may want to consider going for a swim before or after spending hours in the kitchen making a meal or after you spend hours shopping for the best Christmas presents. Hot tubs are great to loosen up those tense muscles and calm your nerves from the in-laws or screaming kids at the mall.
  2. Stay fit: If your pool is still open (and comfortable enough to swim in during these cooler months) you may want to keep up with your swimming regiment during the holidays! We all know we’re prone to overeating and eating comfort foods, sweets, snacks, and more at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Don’t let yourself fall out of shape, use your pool to your advantage if you haven’t closed it for the season.
  3. Easy Entertainment: While the kids are playing with their new toys or their friends and cousins, some of the adults could easily slip away to the hot tub and have a glass of punch and share some stories that are less-than-fit around certain family members. Or, you can share great memories while letting the water jets and bubbles relax you all, making great memories.

No matter what you do this Thanksgiving (and Christmas) holiday, don’t let your pool or hot tub fall into disrepair. If you neglect these investments, you’ll be paying much more in the future to have them repaired. Keep up with your maintenance effortlessly by scheduling weekly (or other regular) maintenance with your favorite pool company, Pool Daddy! We’d love to help take that stress of “did I clean my pool this week?” or “I that a leak in my Jacuzzi?” off of your shoulders this holiday season. Give us a call or check out our Contact Us page to talk about any question, comments, or concerns you have about your pool, hot tub, Jacuzzi, or other water feature you may have on your property.

Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy your holiday pool style everyone.

Pool Services : Pool and Hot Tub Safety for the Holidays

Tags :

Pool ServicesPool Services For The Holidays

Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, and before you know it Christmas and New Year’s will be here. ‘Tis the season for family gatherings and parties with friends, so be prepared to receive guests. If you have a pool on your property, you may want to take some precautions (whether the pool has been shut down for the season or not).

  1. Children: If a kid sees a pool in your back yard and they can get to it, they may try to check it out or jump in (despite the weather or if you’ve got a cover on it). Small children may not listen to warnings and directions from you and other adults, so keeping doors that lead to the pool closed and locked can prevent children from messing with the pool and equipment. Explain to older children (especially those who can work locks) that the pool is off limits. If the pool is open and you’re allowing swimmers, make sure basic pool safety is followed and adults are present any time children are near the water.
  2. Pets: If there are pets at your party (from house guests or your own personal pets), keeping the doors closed and locked should prevent any pet-related problems. However, if outside activities are going on, pets can run out easily in the commotion of the plethora of guests. Keep pets away from doors that lead to the pool.
  3. Pool covers: Not all pool covers can hold the weight of a small child or pet, let alone that of a full grown adult. If you do not have a hard cover or a cover which can safely hold the weight of a person, take extra precaution to keep people, kids, and animals from stumbling into danger.

If you’re keeping your hot tub or Jacuzzi open for your guests, be sure they understand how the tub works, or that they are observing general safety rules (capacity, proper attire, and safety around any slick areas covered in water). Hot tubs are a great way to unwind with a few people after a heavy meal and an even better way to relax after preparing all of the food and setting up decorations or chasing kids around.

  1. Be careful who is allowed in the tub, as small children and animals can get hurt easily.
  2. If your hot tub is in an area where people will be passing by regularly and you are not wanting anyone to mess with it or get in it, ensure the cover is secure and, when possible, apply some locking mechanism.
  3. Try to prevent people from leaning on or climbing on the tub (empty or full, cover on or off). The last thing anyone needs is a broken cover or a hurt guest.

After your parties, have us inspect and clean your pool or hot tub, or call us if you suspect anything is unsafe about your pool covers or anything related to your hot tub or Jacuzzi.

Pool Services : Hot Tubs, Jacuzzis: Warmth, Comfort and Fun!

Tags :

Pool Services

We’re nearing the end of October, which means Winter is right around the corner! This weekend we’re going to talk a little about hot tubs and Jacuzzi’s. They’re a great way to unwind and you can use them year round! We’re going to talk about how they can improve your life as well as why it’s important to keep them in peak working condition.

  1. Stress: So many hot tub and Jacuzzi owners get them to reduce stress, both physical and mental. Our bodies take a beating when we work long hours or spend all day helping others, and that can affect our mental capacities as well. Soaking in hot water, letting the jets massage your body is a great way to unwind. Some people take long, hot baths to unwind, but at Pool Daddy, we prefer a soak in the hot tub– alone or with your partner or friends. Keeping this stress relief investment clean and with working parts will reduce your stress levels even further! We can help make sure it stays in working condition so you never have to go without.
  2. Aches and Pains: From arthritis to pulled muscles, a nice long soak can relieve pressure on joins or relax muscles. Much like stress relief, pain relief is another major reason people install hot tubs or Jacuzzis.Pool Services
  3. Entertainment: We’ve all seen tv shows or movies where someone has a group of friends over in the hot tub, sipping on champagne or eating hors d’oeuvers. Having a hot tub is a great way to entertain small groups. Double dates, post-work bonding, and other small gatherings are made better with a hot tub– especially when it starts getting cold our or after a nice night out dancing.
  4. Investment: Some home owners opt to install a hot tub as an in-ground unit, usually adjacent to their in-ground pool. You can also install an above ground option into a deck. The more permanent the structure, the more you can get out of the property when it’s sold! If you own a property or apartment complex, having a hot tub or Jacuzzi can be a major selling point, much like a pool.
  5. Maintenance: Pool cleaning and maintenance can be pricey, but hot tubs take a little less work and parts. They still need to be cleaned periodically and the parts need to be maintained and checked regularly for leaks or failures, but filling it with water costs much less and any chemicals you may need or want to add will not need to be done in such high concentrations as the pool.
  6. Take it with you: Unlike pools, a hot tub may be easy to take with you if you move. Most above ground units are fairly easy to set up and take out. Some apartment owners can even install a hot tub! If you rent or own a property and are interested in installing a hot tub, you will face fewer road blocks as you would with a pool or in-ground hot tub.

Call today to ask about hot tub and Jacuzzi installations, maintenance, cleaning, and care!

Hot Tubs For Summer

Tags :

Hot Tubs For SummerHot Tubs For Summer

Summer is here, officially, and that means some people turn away from their hot tubs, leaving them empty or at least covered and powered off. Don’t do that to your lovely hot tub! You can still us it this summer.

The great thing about Arizona summer is it still gets cool at night! Deserts are perfect for pools and hot tubs or Jacuzzis together! You hop in the pool during the day to cool off or get some sweat-free exercise and after dinner the hot tub feels nice once the sun goes down. Temperatures drop as the sun approaches the horizon, so don’t forget how great those jets and hot water will feel.

Some people get hot tubs, spas, or Jacuzzis for join pain, back pain, arthritis, and other pain related issues. Bypass hot baths with epsom salts for those achy nights and hop in the hot tub for some relaxation and pain relief. Enjoy the sunset or watch the stars as you let the jets soothe your body from the neck down. Enjoy an after dinner beverage or spend some time with friends or loved ones outside.

Hot Tubs For SummerWhile above ground units do not increase your home value, they can increase your quality of life. Some pool owners opt for a connected spa for their in ground pool unit, increasing home value much like the pool itself does. Keep both above and inground options clean and running smoothly with weekly or monthly pool services from Pool daddy so you can continue enjoying your investment for years to come with less repairs and replacement parts. A hot tub works best when it’s clean and all of the parts are in good repair. Don’t forget about these small units just because they look and feel like they’re working properly. Much like a pool, underlying small issues can sneak up on you or go unnoticed and can lead to major electrical, plumbing, or safety issues.

Invite your father over to lounge in a Jacuzzi for the evening after you treat him to dinner. Send the kids to the pool for some night swimming and enjoy an evening in the hot tub with your husband or send them away to the movies or out with friends and invite over some of the other dads and have an adults only Father’s Day relaxation night.

Consider paying for your father’s pool maintenance for a week or two, or a special cleaning to give him some time off. Whatever you’ve done this Father’s Day, don’t forget about him and consider that sometimes the best gift is just taking something off of his Honey-Do list.

Have a safe summer, follow all safety rules and guidelines of your equipment and chemicals, and keep your pool maintenance technicians in mind when scheduling services—some services should not be done in the high heat.

Hot Tub Proper Ways of Cleaning

Tags :

Hot TubClean Hot Tub is a Happy Hot Tub

Hot tub are nice year round, especially on cool desert nights! Just like a pool, hot tub need to be properly cleaned and maintained for maximum efficiency and comfort. Luckily, cleaning a spa or tub doesn’t require using as much water as a pool. Filling a spa after a cleaning might take an hour or so, whereas a pool filling up could take an entire day! So regularly cleaning your hot tubs is a great idea because less water is in the unit and less is needed to fill it. A little grime in a pool is not as noticeable as the same amount of grime in a hot tub. Today we’ll talk about some ways you can clean that tub to keep it fresh and beautiful.

Minimal cleaning: Baking soda can be used on the surface area when the issue is minor. This shouldn’t be used for the entire tub, and not for mold or mildew.

Hot TubWhole hot tubs: Using a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft scrubbing tool (nylon, for example) to remove grime is very effective and will not damage the unit. Various cleaners can be used for this.

Vinyl Cover: Rinse the cover with a hose before applying a soap solution (small amount of dish washing detergent to water), baking soda, or store bought cleaner in circular motions with a sponge. Avoid using soap for the bottom of the cover. Thoroughly rinse all of the dirt and soap off of the cover before replacing. You can also buy products to protect and seal the covers to prevent some build up.

Hot TubFilters: Roughly once a month it is useful to remove and clean your spa filter cartridges. You can spray them with a hose to remove most debris between the filter pleats. There are many filter cleaner products on the market you can try as well to keep them working at their best capacity. Some filters need to be changed every 3 years, as cleaning them will only do so much. Ask your filter provider or pool technician for advice on when to change your filters (3 years is common).

Replacing the water: Soap from cleaning, your body, and other contaminants can make your hot tub water look dingy and feel off. Replacing it is a good way to keep your tub clean and filters working optimally, since they can’t filter out everything. Follow the instructions given to you by the tub provider and consider water regulations in your area.

pH levels: Any time your spa is unattended for some time, check the pH levels before entering the tub. Levels too high or low can cause damage to the tub or users.

For more tips, read this article for ideas on which products to use to prolong the life of your tub, filter, and more. As always, you can have Pool Daddy check your pool or spa weekly (or as per your request) for a reasonable cost to keep your investments properly working and your life stress free.
