Even the most hands-on pool owner may want a break from the cleaning and chemical checking. Talk to us about paying for a pool services , pool cleaning for your loved one! Give them a week off of the regular cleaning and scrubbing and filter checking this holiday season.

2. Pool Floats

A simple Google search will wield a ton of interesting pool floats! There are some simple floats made from high quality material, novelty ones shaped like pizza or other unusual shapes and colors, and there’s even unsinkable ones! You can also find ones for two or more people as well as child and pet friendly floats.

3. Games and Toys

From floating houses and riders to basketball hoops and volley ball nets you can find cool games and toys for any pool owner.

4. Entertaining guests

Some of the coolest pool accessories you could gift are the ones that will make party hosting so fun. You can find floating coolers, snack trays, speakers, and other accessories to help keep the fun going. You may even be able to find floating tables with umbrellas and card tables with water proof cards!

5. Lights:

You can find light shows and fun colored lights for nearly any pool style to take any post-sunset pool party to the next level!

6. New cleaning equipment:

As the years go by, cleaning tools haven’t changed a lot, but new brushes and nets or a replacement for the 10 year old pool vacuum may go over very well—especially if you can find something that’s a little fancier than the old equipment they had.

7.Pool Side:

From pool side tables and chairs to new serving trays to carry out snacks and refreshments, to a new umbrella for the pool-side table, anything that surrounds the pool can stand to be replaced or improved upon! Especially after years of being close to water (and probably splashed by children or grandchildren) and years in the summer sun.

8. Protection:

If you can afford a slightly more expensive gift, consider a new pool cover for your loved one. Improper storage of even the best pool cover can cause damage, so if you notice something wrong with their existing cover, a new one may make the perfect gift.

9. Towels, suits, and more:

Any swimming accessories could make great gifts and stocking stuffers. From new goggles to plush beach towels, you can never have too much swimming gear. The same goes for water wings for children or life vests for pets.

Hot Tub for Your Cold Winter: Best Combo for Relaxing

Holiday Pool

By this time next week, we’ll be easing out of the Christmas holiday mood. And the winter cold won’t be letting up either. Unwind the best way possible with your hot tub, indoor pool, or Jacuzzi.

From the infinity pools to your basic above ground Jacuzzi, warm or hot water can be the best way to relax after holiday stress. Keep your water-based-stress-saver running smoothly with our help! Regular cleaning, checks, and maintenance will help keep your hot tub working from now until New Year’s (and beyond).

To encourage you to keep your hot tub or Jacuzzi (or even a heated pool) through Winter, we’d like to remind you of just how much better your life can be when these units are working.

1. Stress Management

Exercise is a great way to manage stress, so if your pool is still open you may want to consider going for a swim before or after spending hours in the kitchen making a meal or after you spend hours shopping for the best Christmas presents. Hot tubs are great to loosen up those tense muscles and calm your nerves from the in-laws or screaming kids at the mall.

2. Stay fit

If your pool is still open (and comfortable enough to swim in during these cooler months) you may want to keep up with your swimming regiment during the holidays! We all know we’re prone to overeating and eating comfort foods, sweets, snacks, and more at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Don’t let yourself fall out of shape, use your pool to your advantage if you haven’t closed it for the season.

3. Easy Entertainment

While the kids are playing with their new toys or their friends and cousins, some of the adults could easily slip away to the hot tub and have a glass of punch and share some stories that are less-than-fit around certain family members. Or, you can share great memories while letting the water jets and bubbles relax you all, making great memories.

No matter what you do this Thanksgiving (and Christmas) holiday, don’t let your pool or hot tub fall into disrepair. If you neglect these investments, you’ll be paying much more in the future to have them repaired. Keep up with your maintenance effortlessly by scheduling weekly (or other regular) maintenance with your favorite pool company, Pool Daddy! We’d love to help take that stress of “did I clean my pool this week?” or “I that a leak in my Jacuzzi?” off of your shoulders this holiday season.

Give us a call or check out our Contact Us page to talk about any question, comments, or concerns you have about your pool, hot tub, Jacuzzi, or other water feature you may have on your property.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. Enjoy your holiday pool style, everyone.

Arizona Winter Temperatures Average

During the winter months in Arizona, it usually isn’t that cold, but definitely cold enough to keep you out of an unheated pool! There are quite a few pools in Arizona that are equipped with pool heaters in order to enjoy the water all year round.

Many homes with swimming pools in Arizona also have a hot tub or jacuzzi either attached to their pool or separate in order to relax during the winter time. This is especially common in homes in the more affluent communities such as North Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Arizona Pool Maintenance Is Still Important in Winter!

Your pool maintenance should not be any less of a priority during the winter months compared to the summer, even though you may be using it less. Your pool water still needs to be chemically balanced in order to keep corrosion from building on the surface of the pool and the pool tile. The other component to keeping your pool sparkling and build up free is a consistent brushing of the tile and the pool walls.

Pool Services : Hot Tubs, Jacuzzis: Warmth, Comfort and Fun!

Tags :

Pool Services

We’re nearing the end of October, which means Winter is right around the corner! This weekend we’re going to talk a little about hot tubs and Jacuzzi’s. They’re a great way to unwind and you can use them year round! We’re going to talk about how they can improve your life as well as why it’s important to keep them in peak working condition.

  1. Stress: So many hot tub and Jacuzzi owners get them to reduce stress, both physical and mental. Our bodies take a beating when we work long hours or spend all day helping others, and that can affect our mental capacities as well. Soaking in hot water, letting the jets massage your body is a great way to unwind. Some people take long, hot baths to unwind, but at Pool Daddy, we prefer a soak in the hot tub– alone or with your partner or friends. Keeping this stress relief investment clean and with working parts will reduce your stress levels even further! We can help make sure it stays in working condition so you never have to go without.
  2. Aches and Pains: From arthritis to pulled muscles, a nice long soak can relieve pressure on joins or relax muscles. Much like stress relief, pain relief is another major reason people install hot tubs or Jacuzzis.Pool Services
  3. Entertainment: We’ve all seen tv shows or movies where someone has a group of friends over in the hot tub, sipping on champagne or eating hors d’oeuvers. Having a hot tub is a great way to entertain small groups. Double dates, post-work bonding, and other small gatherings are made better with a hot tub– especially when it starts getting cold our or after a nice night out dancing.
  4. Investment: Some home owners opt to install a hot tub as an in-ground unit, usually adjacent to their in-ground pool. You can also install an above ground option into a deck. The more permanent the structure, the more you can get out of the property when it’s sold! If you own a property or apartment complex, having a hot tub or Jacuzzi can be a major selling point, much like a pool.
  5. Maintenance: Pool cleaning and maintenance can be pricey, but hot tubs take a little less work and parts. They still need to be cleaned periodically and the parts need to be maintained and checked regularly for leaks or failures, but filling it with water costs much less and any chemicals you may need or want to add will not need to be done in such high concentrations as the pool.
  6. Take it with you: Unlike pools, a hot tub may be easy to take with you if you move. Most above ground units are fairly easy to set up and take out. Some apartment owners can even install a hot tub! If you rent or own a property and are interested in installing a hot tub, you will face fewer road blocks as you would with a pool or in-ground hot tub.

Call today to ask about hot tub and Jacuzzi installations, maintenance, cleaning, and care!

Hot Tub Magic for Valentine’s Day

Tags :

Hot Tub Magic for Valentine’s Day

If you have a hot tub, spa, Jacuzzi, or anything of that nature, now’s the time to have an excuse to use it as your wingman (or wingwoman)! If you want to wow that special someone, use your hot tub to its full potential! This week we’ll talk about ways to turn your partner’s head with how romantic you can be with the hot tub you already own!

    1. Change the lights: Whether you have outdoor lights near the hot tub or you can change the lights in the hot tub with relative ease, consider using a red or pink bulb or filter to give the hot tub a special romantic feel. You can also add faerie lights or other light sources around the hot tub for added effect.
    2. Hot Tub Trays: Spent a little money and invest in something like a spa caddy or a floating tray. If you’re using the floating tray, consider loading it up with delicious things that are best served warm, but if you’re using a tray that attaches to the side of your spa your options are endless. Set up some wine or champagne, or set out his favorite beer with a delicate snack, or set up a stereo playing your favorite songs as a couple. Keep the romance close by so you can stay in the hot tub instead of getting out for a refill!
    3. Rose Petals: Lead her to the hot tub with a trail of rose petals to the hot tub where you’ve sprinkled a few petals (preferably fake) or some floating red, white, and pink items.
    4. Candles: Provides there’s enough ledge space (or nearby tables), consider lighting a few candles, especially scents like flowers or vanilla! Not only will they provide beautiful ambient light but they’ll smell amazing.
    5. Light show: Invest in a little gadget like this to make a quiet night more like a party! Have a double date in your hot tub with some wine, sparkling cider, champagne, or even beer. If you and your partner just want something a little more exciting than a basic hot tub with boring lights, surprise them with something snazzy like this.
  1. Bathing suits, towels, and other items: Surprise her with matching pool towels with hearts or embroidered with initials, or buy the two of you matching swim suits for the occasion. Lead them to the spa where you’ve placed new lounge pillows or padding to relax them after a long day of cooking, working, or shopping.
  2. Be there: Don’t just relax away silently, listen to your partner while you both let the jets soothe your aches and pains away. Relax into each other’s arms, sipping on champagne and giving each other massages. Even if you’re mad at the other person, don’t let it interfere with romantic hot tub time. Isn’t that why you installed it in the first place?

If you’re looking to use your hot tub to its full potential, contact us and we’ll make sure it’s in working order and get it clean and ready to go for your big date night. Never neglect your hot tub and remember that it can be a great way to unwind after a dinner or relax the body in preparation for that big night out you have planned.

Super Bowl Pool Party Sunday! Let’s Get Wet!

Super Bowl Pool Party Sunday! Let’s Get Wet!

If you use your pool year round and haven’t winterized it, then today might be the perfect time to throw a pool party! It’s a little last minute, but there’s still time! Or, better yet! Throw a Super Bowl Pool Party tomorrow (or next weekend for those who have regular jobs). Everyone will be recovering from a day of drinking and either celebration or anger—depending on who wins, of course. Record it and rewatch it with friends tomorrow, or rewatch the commercials with some close friends and turn it into a drinking game or throw a party in the name of the winning team tomorrow and invite all of your friends.

It may be just a tad chilly for swimming (unless you have an indoor pool, you lucky dog) for some, but for others it’s still perfect. Take a swim before the big game to clear your mind and pump up your body!

Those with a Jacuzzi or hot tub are in an even greater advantage! If you have an outdoor television you’re all set to have the best Super Bowl evening ever! Crack open a beer, pull some stools up filled with snacks, and relax. If there is no television close enough to the hot tub (And you can’t find a way to move it closer) then chill in the hot tub during half-time if Katy Perry isn’t your thing. Prep for the game with a relaxing soak, or chill with your buddies after the game talking about the outcome of the game, the commercials, or just talk about sports in general.

For all of you non-football fans (wives, girlfriends, mothers, “I just watch for the commercials” people etc) why not relax in the pool or hot tub and have some fun getting away from the screaming and the jumping. Go back for the half time show in case there’s another Janet Jackson scenario or to enjoy Katy Perry, or don’t. If you love the commercials don’t worry too much—they’ll all be online tomorrow anyway and they’ll replay the best ones on normal television for at least a month.

No matter what football team you’re rooting for and why, if you have a pool, Jacuzzi, or hot tub, you’re sure to have a wonderful Super Bowl Pool Party! It might sound like a silly idea, but it got you thinking about reasons to throw pool or spa parties, didn’t it? You can also take bets in a pool to see who wins and the losers have to jump in the cold swimming pool.

Pool Daddy is here for all your pool cleaning needs and keeping your pools and hot tubs in fantastic working order. Keep us in mind for weekly pool cleaning so you can keep using your pool year round, or contact us for finally winterizing your pool you keep saying you’ll use this winter. Anytime you have a pool-related issue contact us and we’ll send our technicians right away. Don’t believe us? Read some testimonials from some valued customers.

Above Ground Hot Tub Vs. In Ground Hot Tub!

Above Ground Hot Tub Vs. In Ground Hot Tub!

Hot tubs are great for cold nights (if you use it regularly, otherwise consider winterization) and they’re also very soothing and relaxing year-round. If you’re considering installing a hot tub at any time (especially with Spring coming right around the corner, with Summer right behind) read further and decide which type is best for you.

Above Ground Hot Tub:

Above Ground Hot Tub

  • Initial cost of an above ground hot tub ranges from $3,000 to $12,000 with a monthly cost ranging from $20-$30 (meaning very little effort involved in maintenance).
  • 30-70 jets and ergonomic seating for maximum comfort.
  • This style of hot tub is usually placed close to the home (usually within close proximity of a door) which means in states with mild weather, users are more likely to use it year round. Also, they are not uncommon for homes with small yard space (not enough space for a full pool and in-ground spa).
  • Warranties for parts and labor can last for up to 5 years.
  • No preheating needed for most units.
  • Covers are usually large and heavy, meaning some users may have trouble lifting on their own.

In Ground Hot Tub:

  • Initial cost ranges between $5,000 and $25,000. They tend to be high maintenance and can easily cost more than $30/month to run.
  • Fewer jets and usually simple seating options with minimal “ergonomic” designs.
  • Usually placed next to (if not nearly connected to) a pool, so the distance between the house and hot tub is usually further than above ground units, leading to a greater need to winterize the unit. They can be placed closer to the home, but it is unusual since most owners of an in ground hot tub also have a pool.
  • Warranties for parts and labor are usually for one year only (so ask about extended warranties when possible).
  • These units often need to be preheated, further adding to the desire to winterize the unit because the hassle of using it year round.
  • Covers often operate using an attached bar with a level system—very easy to remove.

Overall, above ground hot tub are often chosen by clients wanting something to use year-round due to the lower initial cost and the lower monthly costs and greater default warranties. Those who choose the in ground units often just want an extra water feature to use periodically and are not interested in the large number of jets provided in above ground units. Those seeking therapeutic usage of a hot tub may want to consider an above ground unit.

Regardless of what type of hot tub you want, Pool Daddy can help you maintain it (and possibly even be involved in the installation process). If you’re seeking assistance with weekly maintenance or you’ve got a problem with your hot tub, call us and we’ll keep all of your pools, hot tubs, and Jacuzzi’s running smoothly.
